David Lopez-Kurtz
David Lopez-Kurtz is a widely-recognized legal authority in emerging technology, particularly Web3, digital assets, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). With a background in traditional securities and corporate law, he is particularly well-positioned to offer insight in the precise intersections of emerging financial market models and traditional securities and corporate transactional law, with special attention to federal and state securities laws, token fundraising (ICOs and SAFTs), and alternative securities offering options (Reg A+, Reg D/506(c), Reg S, and Equity Crowdfunding).
He has been published by the National Law Review and Law360, as well as CoinDesk and other Web3-focused periodicals. In 2022, he was selected by the National Law Review as one of 75 exceptional “Go-To Thought Leadership Awards” recipients for his writings on Finance Law.
In his spare time, David can be found in his wood shop, at the lake fishing, or at the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he teaches as an adjunct professor. He also publishes a regular newsletter “Web3 vs. The Law” on Substack → and has been known to share strong opinions on Twitter →.
